GPS issues which models?

Hello everyone I’m new to the 3DR world and have heard a lot about putting card board between components and buying GPS covers. I was wondering if all versions were effected by this or just earlier models?

Cardboard does nothing. Placebo effect except a rare few people who had an actual defect. You need 3DR's revised GPS shield, which can be found here: 3DR GPS shield New | eBay

The cardboard mod only takes 20min easy and it’s free. Why not just give it a try. Worked great for me.

Why not? Because it does absolutely nothing, and fixes no actual problem.

What does the shield do? Was it included on some models?

It was not included. 3DR made it after production because they finally had to admit they screwed up. It shields the GPS from RF interference.

Is it a shield and another sticker over the new shield

It is 3M RF absorbing material, cut to fit exactly around the bottom of the GPS bay, sticking on and with the two little screw holes for the GPS. It is a shield, but rather than reflect, it absorbs to block it. And unlike the stock copper foil, it actually works very very well.
