I wanted to test the Sony FX1000V stabilization in gusty, turbulent wind.
I left the GoPro Hero mounted face forward, and the FX1000V facing rearward.

The cable cam run was identical for the two runs; the FX1000V is flying backwards.

No, the flight isn't all that interesting; most tests aren't. Watch in HD/full screen for best result.

The Sony is noticeably more stable. Is that something built into the camera? How did you mount it to Solo?

It is mounted to the Solo via VHB tape as supplied out of the box. I do have a swivel that will allow me to tilt it, but for purposes of this test, I wanted to fix it straight forward.

Very tail-heavy.
This unit (and a few others) were sold to a local police department, and this was a training session.
Yes, the camera on the rear makes it quite tail-heavy. When PAUSE is hit, the airbrake struggles with stopping due to the weight.

I'd be interested in hearing how the police are going to use them. There are many ways they could put them to use. -:)

Looks like we may be able to run bigger cams after all if somebody could make a light gimbal that is compatible with solo. I'd guess that's a lot of strain on those motors though, proly need upgraded pods and battery for it to be a very useable setup.

I would think so..
