No disrespect taken....I did not lose satellite signal, I lost wifi connection about 20 feet from my location. I was told not to fly over water as the water can reflect the signal and cause issues.....Don't fly anywhere near trees, water, uneven ground, cloudy days or anything that can cast a shadow. Lesson learned.
Well...
That's a bit extreme... Sounds like you have a Vampire Solo.
But losing WiFi 20 metres means something's broken or you didn't turn off the GoPro WiFi. You should be able to get about that far with no antennae attached, but with other WiFi transmitters around everything goes pear-shaped radio wise, sooner.
I've had my Solo on my back on my motorbike fr days of off road, then whip it out and outs in the air making memories. Fantastic! And unlike any other drone I've seen, it's easier to fly, and works like a director might think, setting up views and shots and then shooting them just like you set it to do... Or maybe you'd like to do it in reverse...
The only glitches I've seen are with the GoPro integration, sometimes I get a flicker or a video roll when I'm pushing the motors, with the newest app only. Or the gimbal, which I replaced after I had Solo Follow Me into a tree. Yikes.
And water is not an issue unless you fall into it, there's a special math geometry than can cause signals to echo, but Solo does not suffer in this way from my experience... My longest distance was over water, just under 2000 metres, and I returned before the failsafe did... Landed with 8% though, not very nice to Solo.
