Hmm.. I don't remember a cornfield being involved, but it's been a while.I found a few other references to the story. According to other sites, the child was found by a search party on foot in the corn field. Not a drone.

It is ambiguous about how the child was found, implying the drone had something to do with it, but not specifically saying that. My interpretation is that it makes a more interesting story than:
"Drone involved in search for missing boy."
