Controler WIFI password problem

I bought a solo and controller on EBAY. I managed to get it to connect everwhere (solo and app) without needing a password (I used my IP address) Now it is making me pay the piper. I'm trying to get my laptop to use it and after many attempts and failures, I return here for word from above.
I read somewhere in this forum that you cannot change the password once it is set. Please tell me I'm wrong and there is a work around. I'm using a brand new Samsung with Windows 10.

If you mean the Solo wi-fi password, yes you can change it. Worst case would be you resetting Solo and the controller and pairing them again and also the app.

Page 11 of the Solo User Manual: The default password after a "factory reset" (see page 78 for instructions) is "sololink". How to change the password is also described on page 11.
