Gimbal & Camera can overheat for several reasons,
The 1 reasons i just found out was that, the HDMI wasn't seated correctly @ the internal gimbal plug in.
Camera & Gimbal would get so hot to the touch, it could burn your fingers!
Of course, Gimbal acting a little weird, Camera stopping or other problem " Solo not recognizing" camera model.
Immediately after diagnosing it was the HDMI connection & reinserting the inner HDMI, everything works perfect!
Solo is a well thought out equipment that has so many Hardware & Electronics components, that it sometimes hard to find out where the error is coming from.
All that said,
I had mine for a year now & i can tell you, it's a Fine piece of equipment that needs an conscious user that willing to follow the "Do's & Don'ts" Of operating a Solo.
