I've been using Solex with no problem for quite some time now and have been able to download form the internet and then download them as needed when connected to my Solo.
Now it won't let me do either...I have uninstalled it,re installed it and have jockeyed back i
and forth in the settings with the Advanced mode settings and i just can't bring up the Firmware updates...
Does this mean its being updated ?

I had the same issue the other night with the new version. I had to connect to the vehicle first with Solex and then disconnect from the vehicle and then I could download the firmware updates in Solex.

Weird...ok I'll try that thanks.

I tried your advice..and I have two solos.
One is new...with original factory firmware and I Can download the firmware updates disconnected from Solex...but when I connect to Solex the firmware updates are greyed out.
The second one...i can't even get the app to show firmware updates.
This even when Solex says it's connected and has downloaded parameters on both.
I don't know what's going on..but it's pausing me off.

Another unrelated question:
How many times can you reset the solos main board before you damage it ?

An additional check in the latest version of Solex that could the 'problem' mentioned in the second section of your post.

This thread explains it;

I actually resolved the problem.
The room I was too close to my mortem, and I wasn' able to get a good enough internet lock to access the firmware...weird since I could download firmware in the same location with the previous version of Solex.

Thanks for your help
