Camera settings flying

Does anyone know why the camera settings and shutter bottom doesn't appear while flying?

But with my Iphone the shutter bottom appears and I can start recording from the control while he's in the air.
And with the Ipad doesn't appear any bottom neither in pic mode.

Actually you cant. You can start your iPhone camera roll and record lower resolution to your device.

You have no control over the camera. You cant make it record to the SD card on the GoPro unless you start the record function before talking off.

You are only connected to the camera with a video cable (HDMI). There is no way to control it.

On your iPad go into settings on the solo app. Turn on "Save videos to camera roll". Must close out app and restart it. Then you will get the button to record. Saves live feed to your device. Does not control the camera.

You can also turn on On Screen Display "OSD" in your GoPro. It shows quite a bit of info on the live feed then.
