That's Wading River, on Long Island NY. In the distance on the left is a nuclear plant that was built, and never used once I'm nervous to get any closer to it

Where do you guys take off? Do you just put it in the snow and take off? Reason being, Im deathly afraid of water getting in the solo.

I placed mine right in the snow. It's light enough to sit on top of the snow in most cases. Just land softly. Preferably manually.

I always take some old car floor mats and as slab of plywood with me. Makes it a lot easier for takeoff and landing.

I just use a piece of cardboard on top of the snow, especially if the snow is soft and fluffy! Works like a charm.
