it doesn't matter because with pix4dmapper discovery and dronedeploy the images can be acquired by any means. so you would use tower to map, inject the gps exif, upload the images and then process from there.
in pix4dmapper discovery you import your images and in dronedeploy you use the map engine function to upload images.
also pix4dcapture and dronedeploy apps will be soon compatible with solo.
