The chinese can reproduce the solo for about $200-$300. At $499, solo is still a profitable venture.

You may ask, why the chinese don't make the solo knock off. It is due to lack of market demand and very limited exposure of Solo.

If you still holding on the outdated thinking that Solo cost is around $800-1000, , take a look at the wechat drone,it is selling $299. Tech in Asia - Connecting Asia's startup ecosystem
and the xiaomi drone which is a phantom 3P knock off is making a good profit at $450

Intelligent, well thought out post . This has all been covered before and they are still honoring their warranty as written, which includes a clause regarding 3rd party items that are no longer available.

Never again will there be a time when we can have the amount of tech that 3DR is giving away...If you think it is crap that's ok, JUST go on down the road.
