Totally agree. But just like a review of a good product on Amazon where there are many account of, say, the same knob falling off - it's usually indicative of a bad knob. I am not thinkin at all that these are all bad - but consider whichever iPhone it was with the "hold the phone differently"...

I have been watching this forum grow since almost day one. Decided to join right around release date and have been sitting on the fence watching things unfold and thought I'd give a non-owners but very interested parties perspective on the Solo. 1- I think 3DR is overwhelmed in terms of trying...

@rrmccabe - it's like Cheers here... Everyone knows your name and you never really leave... Watching all this unfold - I have gotten VERY comfortable sitting on this fence.

Can I really order a Solo on the Best Buy site and have it delivered to me in like 3 days? Is that for real or is this a trap to get me into a pre-order queue?

That still leaves us with the issue of the bear claws (seeing as they have no holes) - but no fear - I'm very confident this community will figure out a solution for you!

Already I see the "Orbit" mode being used around the bad guy with the expansion bay having a megaphone where you are yelling "drop the dope. get down on the ground. you are surrounded" All while sitting half a mile away in a car with your bear claws making the controller all sticky ;) Good...

That it was. I'm with you @rrmccabe with regards to DJI / "The Wang" being reason enough to not buy one of theirs. I'm still on the fence in general tho... as you said - it's a big pile of beans to slap down to make a Solo, go!

Interesting comment @rrmccabe - can you elaborate a bit? Your presence here is a big one so this - more than any other review of issues or returns is a pretty heavy statement... frankly I think it's worthy of a whole post / thread of your own... I'd love to know why!

@RichWest thats great context for a general discussion... but it doesn't really answer my original question... I KNOW hardware is much more difficult to fix once released than SW issues... What I'm trying to get a feel for - and if nobody knows - that's cool too - is historically - all brands...

So do I - when I say I'm new to this - I have a cheapie - I'm talking new to "real" UAV's - not the one I bounce off walls and floors...
