Quick start up guide says to turn off go pro WiFi because it may interfere with solos communication signal. If I do that though then I can't see the solo flying on my phone right? Thx

You'll be able to see it in the Solo App. Solo is transmitting the gopro signal that it's receiving from the hdmi connector using it's own wifi connection, which is why you shouldn't have the gopro wifi on so the 2 wifi networks don't compete/interfere with each other.
