Gopro 3

When I purchased the 3Dr solo it said to use the 3, 3+, or 4. I purchased the 3. I have live video but the record button doesn't turn red. Could it be the model of camera or should I look elsewhere?

Its most likely the camera that your using causing the record button not to turn red. You need a hero 3 plus black edition or higher to use the record button feature on solo. If you don't want to replace your gopro, you always can start and stop video on the ground.

Also if your not using the gimbal you can't start and stop video.

Definitely the model, GPH3 does not have activated Record button. It does relay FPV and can do Smartshots, but recording must be initiated manually on the ground by pressing the physical "on" button.
