I have not had mine apart and I'd bet that all there is inside it is a cable soldered to a etched PC board
that has the foil etched away in a way that represents a tuned plate for the antenna. The board is
most likely a double-sided copper clad epoxy board. Your situation has the backside covered with
foil and probably has no affect except, if the foil is overlapping it, it could detune the transmitter.
I'd remove the foil and and let the antenna experts engineering do their thing. Point the lettering on
the paddles down and towards the quad while flying it. The antennas are called a "flat-plane" or
a flat panel antenna, cheap to manufacture and cheap in price, but efficient. I've had good luck
using the "clover-leaf" antennas for 5.8 ghz and a 2.4 ghz antenna in a "clover-leaf" is about twice
