Solo Gimbal - Handheld conversion

My apologies if this is a duplicate post. Tried searching with no luck.

Has anyone tried modifying the Solo Gimble to use as a stand alone item?

With Gimble units under $40, it seems with all of the GoPro Hero 3's & 4's out there, it would make an great video stabilizer compared to these:

Amazon.com : Feiyu Tech G4-QD Quick Dismantling 3-Axis Gimbal for GoPro Hero3, 3+ 4 and similar shaped action cameras : Camera & Photo

Amazon.com : EVO GP 3 Axis Handheld Gimbal for GoPro Hero 3, Hero 3+, Hero 4, CNC Alloy Construction : Camera & Photo

Amazon.com : Glide Gear Scopio 3 Axis Action Camera Gimbal Stabilizer w/ Adapters USA COMPANY : Camera & Photo

Have a nice day!

The gimbal itself does not have all the brains associated with gyro functions. Those are on other hardware within the solo.
