Is there a way to find my location within the app, or do I just have to zoom aimlessly? What am I missing here?

On the Tower screen there are 3 icons on the left side in the middle. Tapping the top one (I beleive, not in front of me at the moment) will center the screen on your location.

ensure that GPS of your tablet is turned on.
Then the map should center at your location

Well that's what I assumed. I can see fro! My location services that tower is requesting location, however nothing happens. Maybe I should try and reinstall the app?

Indeed. Not the case here but I've seen threads where a new user pops in with a question and multiple members contribute a lot of input in order to help solve whatever problem is being described. Then the OP just comes back and says "problem solved" and is never seen again. Always good form to post any solutions found.
