Hi 3DR pilots!
I still can't figure out this, maybe someone can guide me:

Do I need to do a hardware modification on my 3DR Solo to be able to use the Solex app with my android device?
Or is it just download&play?

Any help really appreciated!

No hardware modifications needed on a standard Solo. You might want to look at combining with Open Solo 4.0 for the full benefits of updated firmware - but you don't absolutely have to do either

Plenty of threads on both Solex and OpenSolo here to help you decide if they are for you.

dag4rce,
I have done the open solo 4 on a complete stock solo. Trust me it is the best thing you could ever do. This is by far the best way to keep your solo flying for many years to come.

My solo has been in a box for a few years. I took it out, updated to Open Solo 4... and I am beyond impressed. I am a complete newb; I can't code, and I am not a very skilled pilot (maybe that's why I skydive?)

Enjoy the adventure of getting your done flying....
