Solo gimbal not recognized (Flashes RED)

So I bought a gimbal and my Solo is not recognizing it.

I have tried to reinstall and reconnect it several times. I have done a factory reset on both the quad and the controller. I have tried what I thought was everything and every time it blinks red.

Should I do a factory reset with it installed or uninstalled? Uninstalled it resets fine. When I install the gimbal, the factory reset gets stuck but I am wondering if the gimbal needs to be attached to update as well?

I have read that this is a temporary fault but unsure if this gimbal can be reset?

I am at a loss and have contacted 3DR but have not heard back yet.

I had the same issue and after getting with 3dr service I sent it in for replacement. mine took about 4 weeks to get replaced. The second one works good.
