I know, when I saw the price of a replacement I thought about the possibilities of using this a s frame for a DIY quadopter. It would require a "dummy canopy to replace the Solo battery.

Ian Soler is working on mods to allow the Solo shell to be used by the Pixhawk or other flight controllers. I know he's even modded a smart battery adapter as well.
