You could have an intermittent SD card socket, try reseating them, controller first, if no luck then copter.
If that doesn't help then:
Buy Solex from the playstore, if you're on android.
Use that to install Open Solo 4, seamlessly, effortlessly and free of charge to your controller and drone body.
I know this sounds glib, I apologize but it may be inevitable that you'll NEED Solex/Open Solo 4 anyway if you end up stuck in 3DR's obsolete Preflight Update mode.
