New 3DR Solo owner...looking for advice on upgrades

Thanks for the info Chuck. I already have the Hero4+Silver now and it's working fine - although I could have maybe saved some money by buying a used Nexus and I'm sure other users will also appreciate your help

I know you don't care because you upgraded, but for anyone else, just FYI, I have a Hero 3+ Black and often use an iPhone 6 (not even a 6s), and live feed works fine. I have found it's slightly tempermental on start-up, I pretty much always have to power up everything, then push the power off and on on the GoPro and set the app to photo, THEN move the selection it to video before takeoff. In flight video feed works fine,and switching to photo or video in flight works fine.

I still have not had my first flight with my solobecause of being unable to find the wifi network to connect to so I can do the software update . I finally received a reply from 3dr and I need to do a factory reset. Hopefully tomorrow I will have the time and I can start having fun.
