Sit tight for a day - I'm researching this...exactly what did the message from SOLEX say when attempting to update the controller - may take me a day. I'm in eastern USA, UTC-5.

Let me know exactly what the error msg. is.

It just won't find the drone

It will give the "incompatible..." message when Solex thinks it is not connected to a Solo. It doesn't matter whether you're installing to the Controller or the Solo. Causes could be he's either not connected to the SoloLink wifi, the vehicle didn't connect to Solex, or Solex didn't recognize it as a Solo for some reason.

Make sure he's paired it.
Have him change default vehicle type to Solo.
Click the Connect button.
Make sure Solex has been granted all the permissions it asks for.
Turn on Android Location Services

The veichke won't connect to solex that is my problem iv had it join once when I was doing the download of solo 4 but the controller died and I think it's locked to where ever it cut off at cause it says 0.6.14 but won't let me go past that for some reason

All on and set I downloded open solo clean install 4.0.0 got part way through that then controller died

Hey I'm in the same situation. I just bought this Solo used, made a mistake and wound up factory resetting the controller, not sure if I reset the drone properly. I'm not scared of tech whatsoever, but when there's a weird process and you're dealing with wireless devices it can be a pretty bumpy ride. I'm at the same screens. Preflight update required, I can connect to the wifi in the app but it won't see the vehicle despite it pairing with the controller. I'm not sure what to do at this point so I hit the brakes and I'm waiting for help.
