How to 'talk' with pixhawk 2.4.8 over USB and get\set information from\to him ?

I finally received my Pixhawk board.

I connect to the Pixhawk board with usb to my machine ( install all the drivers ) and i see that the

Pixhawk board is connected ( see it on Mission Planner application )



I want to learn how to develop on this board.

I want to write a code to this board.



How to start ?

Where can i find a basic examples ?

I try to use 'PX4 Toolchain' but using the 'Tera tern vt' and also using ''HTerm" application return to me some 'geebrish' un readable chars.

I would start with the Mavlink communications protocol :
GitHub - mavlink/mavlink: MAVLink micro air vehicle marshalling / communication library
I would do this before I started modifying the firmware.

They examples might be for socket ( UDP ) communication but the same protocol works over serial too.
