I purchased my first Solo a few months ago, and love it, although Ive only had 6 flights with it before crashing it. The crash was user error, not a Solo malfunction. I was flying out over the ocean, attempting to get a low flying, high speed approach shot coming into the shoreline, and I mis-judged altitude, and slammed into a slightly elevated train rail at full rabbit, about 75 feet inland from the beach. Huge rookie mistake, but learned from it. Remarkably, minimal damage to the Solo, aside from 3 broken props, and a damaged motor bell housing. Incredibly durable aircraft! Will definitely acquire a couple more Solos for commercial use and back-ups. Such a shame they are out of production, but I think the Solo will live on through the community and aftermarket parts, I hope!
For those wondering about the forum name Ive chosen, its a reference to a large industrial duty, waterproof, long range UAS im working on for marine S.A.R., and offshore commercial use.
