Having trouble with sat go here to check in your area

Trimble GNSS Planning will tell you how many sats to expect based on the your location, elevation, obstructions, date and time of day. if you are having trouble with gps, i would check here first. it works best in firefox or IE, no go with chrome.

I have one on my Android phone called GPS Status and Toolbox I use occasionally to compare the number of Sats with what my P2 telemetry is telling me. Location services has to be enabled in order for it to shows you Sat positions and strength.
