GoPro Will Not Record In Flight

I have a GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition plugged into the Gimbal and HDMI port. After taking off, my FPV gets spotty and turns on and off every 5 seconds or so. When I hit the record button on my phone or on the controller, the videos never start recording. Does anyone know what I can do to get this working?
