I had posted this in a thread but someone just told me this fixed his problems

if someone wants to see if they can replicate my results it might be a way to make the android app tolerable. I did:
  • A complete reset on solo,
  • A tablet factory reset.
  • Reloaded only 3dr apps period. Tower, services, and solo app.
One interesting note. When I went to reinstall services it said I needed to update play services. might want to make sure you don't have a play store update sitting out there waiting for approval.

When I went out to fly today, I fired up services on its own before launching solo app., Launched solo app and took off. As expected the very first MPCC failed. Could not set B to end the shot. Hard closed the app, left services running. Solo was just hovering. Restarted the app, and did the cable again. It took. Oddly enough the first one was in my saved shots. From that point on I had 0 issues. Was able to set up and execute 3 other MPCC shots. Reload them and Fly them multiple times.

Hey Pyrate,

I've different workflow for setting up MPCC which is also working mostly for me:

1. Turn off "save to camera rolll".
2. Turn off "record during smart shots" or something simmilar :), don't remember exactly the name...
3. Ensure that you don't record video during setting smart shots.
4. Set MPCC.
5. Press record.
6. Start MPCC.

This approach didn't failed me.... yet.... :)

What tablet are you using? I have not had this issue on a Samsugn Galaxy Tab 2, 8".

it has been reported on many different OSs and devices.
I am thinking app conflict.

Going to keep flying mine and see if my fix sticks

One of the 3 shots that I got to work stabilized in Mercalli
It was shot at 1080p by mistake
I usually shoot 4k

I was having consistent issues with my Nexus 7. Most prominently was the "Waiting for Solo" problem, I could wait 5 minutes and not connect. The fix was to reboot and it would connect immediately. I purchased a mini 4 iPad for the internal barometer and decided to try it with Solo. Well all I can say is it works better than Android for me. No "waiting for Solo" anymore and Follow functions acquire GPS faster and hold tighter IMO.

I don't remember this early on but there does seem to be OS conflicts with Android now. My generic Android tablets that use to work don't even display the smart shot menu. I'm not an iOS fan but I'm staying with it until the bugs are out of Android.

Someone on FB just had a good suggestion. I have not been able to fly since my last success but one other person reported the problem came back after they tried my work around.

So the new try involves
  • turn of the near by devices sharing
  • turn of battery optimization for 3Dr apps
  • Disable all the google apps and services except for location and maps

Will try and fly it in the next day or so.
On another note, I was due an upgrade for my company phone. I had been issued a note 4. But one of my upgrade options was an IPhone 6S plus. So I opted for that to use as a back up to my nexus 9

My experience with the cable cam not finishing, (B button doesn't work) Seems to happen when I'm setting points at long range and my Signal strength is Red and greater than absolute value of [-70dB] By being careful not to set way point at weak signal points. I seem to have good results.

heard on the grapevine some stuff that calmed my worries about Android. Some of the news had me worried but I expect Android to be fine
