3DR Solo

I have a friend who got a 3DR Solo as an Xmas gift from his son. I just received a message from another friend that the pilot lost control of the drone. Apparently it flew near a car when the pilot lost control before it hit a house. Sounds to me like he was flying in an ill advised location. The pilot thinks metal on the car caused loss of control. Anybody know what causes loss of control during flight?

99% of the time... pilot error - not having the skills and enough practice to know how get out of predicaments - and they will occur.
