Marketing. The wired controller hooked up to an in store kiosk with a custom simulator running. I own two of the controllers and the fun thing is they are just real controllers missing the ControllerLink card and antennas. They do include a nice 3v3 USB->Serial converter cable. Did you know the STM board communicates with the IMX.6 board over serial?

Now, if only I could find ControllerLink cards for around $20 each...
