I'll take the backpack if still available.

    Solo for mapping

You might check with IMP Concepts. I don't see one for the Sony a6000 on the Solo, but he might be able to make one for you. If you do get it mounted, you need to conduct some tests, because the additional weight will definitely affect flight times. I have flown with two Canon S100's and only...

    Solo for mapping

You can't reasonably map 20-40km2 (4900-9900 acres) using any multi-rotor UAV. You need to be looking at mid to high-end fixed-wing UAVs for that size of area.

    3DR Solo Directors Pack - $549.00

I just ordered from BB for pick-up in San Antonio (Forum) and they have all parts (solo, gimbal, battery, props) in stock at store. For $399.

Introducing.. DJI Mavic. Karma Killer at $999!

My interest in the Mavic would be for indoor flight. I have one client who wanted to measure pile volume inside a large (120'x170') building. I've been practicing flying in manual mode inside my shop and I don't think I'm ready to do that with the Solo in front of a client. I'll keep...

    3DR Solo with Canon S110

I use mount from IMP Concepts for my S100. I actually set it up to carry 2 S100s. There is a post here somewhere about trying into Pixhawk, but I just set my S100 to run intervolometer script. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

    Emlid Reach RTK GPS

    FireFly6 Pro - VTOL

Video of VTOL UAV called the FireFLY6 Pro by BirdsEyeView. I do more mapping work than photo/video and need to cover more ground than what the Solo can do. I also have an Event38 E384 fixed-wing UAV.

Recommendations on mapping equipment and software for future agriculture survey business.

This is a little old, but still worth a read. Five Skills You Need to Succeed in the Commercial Drone Market - sUAS News Anybody with 1,000 bucks can do, or at least attempt to, video work with a drone. As pointed out on this board before, the rules of videography still apply if you want good...

Recommendations on mapping equipment and software for future agriculture survey business.

I'm guessing many people will disagree with me, but I don't see the Ag market as being very good for a service provider. As Agflier pointed out, it's getting pretty easy such that almost anyone can do it. Because of this, I think within the next 2 years, many of the farmers who are actually...

    X8+M Mishap

You may have solved this by now, but you should verify the CHDK version matches the firmware version of the SX260.

    First Post

FWIW, I have flown with 2 Canon S100s (no gimbal). I can usually get at least 10-11 minutes of flight time. Wind will also definitely be a factor. The S100 weighs 7.0 ounces. The Mapir camera weighs 2.3 oz with battery. So, my two S100's equal 6 Mapir cameras in weight. Though, you...

How fast to fly Tower mission

The lower the better, but... you have to watch: flight duration/battery life time between shots obstacles elevation change across desired target area Obviously, the lower you fly, the higher the GSD will be but will translate into longer flights and possibly require you to break it up into...
