Yeah sure. You're not obliged to use the library if you don't want to you. It's your world! I would however bother to check that the first byte = 0xFE, especially since you're reading from serial.

If you hate Apple, why get one at all? There are plenty of Android tablets to choose from.

If they do build it, let's hope they do a better job with that software than the software in both GoPro Studio and the GoPro itself. With all the basic problems I've witnessed, I wouldn't trust them to write a pop-up dialog in a child's drawing app.

Bart, there's a new thread regarding this issue: Solo battery output reduced when not connected to Solo Pedals2Paddles discovered that you won't see the full charge unless Solo is attached. The conclusion seems to be that 16.3V is "normal".
