Good Idea but be careful -- I did that with my Traxas a year or so ago and due to my stupidity it flipped and drowned. (No more traxas). Still have the pontoons Have not tried it with the Solo -yet.
I was having the same problem with my old solo -- had it about a 2 years and have flown it flawlessely many times - some crashes and busted props, but always came back to life. I got into making racing drones a while back, got a Mavic and have let the solo sit for a while. Today I took it out...
no I dont, but the regs seem to be pretty stiff even if you do. Saw where CNN only one to have exception to flying over people. If i'm in a remote area with no one around, I don't mind going over 400/ etc. Where are you going to fly in San diego, lA, San Fransisco even with a Lic.?
Ive had a couple of lipos go bad after taking them down to 0 charge. As far as the battery warning on the Solo, I ha'vnt a clue. Hav'nt had that problem -- Yet.
Well -- 3DR dos'nt have any R & D now like DJI, so it's going to have to be DIY. My Mavic dos'nt record sound anyway -- Completely silent after it get 10 ft away.
Make sure you are clear of all interference. IE Wifi, bluetooth, metal, power lines, etc. Give it time to lock on gps but that is not necessary, you can fly without it.

Very subject to out side interference. Blue tooth, alexa, wifi, metal - I have one of the no mods too and it can be stubbard at times. Havnt figured out best order of turn ons yet. Lot of different opinions on that. GPS is slow but give it time. When everything is right it will make you proud. I...
QUESTION??? How do you do all this and stay within FFA regulations? I'm at a loss, and would like to go this route, but I'm all little chicken. Does 400 ft, lOS,.flying over people, an flying restricted zones, etc. no longer mean any thing?
