    Videos about FPV... (rant)

Not specific to Solo, but... I find difficult to believe how many videos (like on YouTube) are about FPV in the title and the description, BUT THE SHOWN VIDEO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FPV IN REALITY, THE VIDEO IS ALMOST ALWAYS ONBOARD RECORDED VIDEO. And 95% of the time they say nothing about that...

    GIT2P without gimbal?

I have searched... I see it works with the gimbal. That means it works without a gimbal, for FPV and onboard recorded video, just connected to the HDMI cable and glued to the Solo, right? Also... The camera must allow connection to an external transmitter. So I am not sure the GIT2P will work...

    This will be a shock

Been doing TONS of research/shopping. Just took a closer look at this Autel Robotics X-Star. Does not look like a DJI clone to me (except for the frame), it looks like a 3DR Solo clone. But seriously, look at the company name. And the controller. I am surprised their website is in English.

Attaching a video transmitter (vtx) and using a video receiver for FPV?

Still doing lots of research (hard shopping). The stuff is complex! Any input on the subject would be appreciated. I am looking for a flight simulation FPV drone. Besides being dirt cheap, the Solo has long flight time compared to racing drones. So why not connect a camera with video transmitter...

    Worst tech ever

It is worse than that. It is bad enough for Western companies to outsource the majority of manufacturing jobs to China. But companies being Chinese owned is an additional level of corruption. Because, naturally, China is going to favor its own companies' manufacturing over other companies'...

    No-fly zones? No way!

Good question. One plus for the Solo is longer flight time. Apparently drone races are short. One FPV activity is "freestyle" which appears to border on simple flight simulation.

    No-fly zones? No way!

Like if you want a much longer flight time?

    Worst tech ever

I have read much stuff including on DJI forums. You have to jump through hoops to disable NO-FLY ZONES. A warning, with a settings option to disable warnings, is plenty in any free country. The NO-FLY ZONE garbage exists, unadvertised, on Yuneec drones as well. Both companies (DJI and Yuneec)...

    No-fly zones? No way!

Besides having the best FPV, I would think that racing drones would have the best battery life too considering the fact they are used for extreme performance, but not sure that is the reality. In the video I posted above, attaching a racing drone FPV to the Solo was done by the video poster...

    No-fly zones? No way!

Of course we do. And in most places outside of Massachusetts adults are allowed to make their own decisions about what is responsible. A law/regulation prohibiting adult human beings from flying drones less than 50 feet high in their own backyards is illegitimate and would be stricken down by...

    No-fly zones? No way!

Perhaps I should have been clearer. At this stage in FPV droning, I guess the term "FPV" applies most commonly to racing. But I am interested in flight simulation. Flight simulation uses first person view and the majority of flight simmers are not racers. The video is just for fun. Besides being...

    No-fly zones? No way!

Is there a transmitter and receiver on your SpeXman goggles that is unused?

The Solo is a demolition derby drone... Watch ALL of the flying parts of that video.

    Just say No to NO-FLY ZONES. I CAN'T FLY D J I !!!

    No-fly zones? No way!

I have a Solo (yes, it is cool) and looking to buy a drone better suited for First Person View (FPV). Of course the DJI drones are attractive. But there is no way I am going to buy a drone with firmware that prohibits flying 50 feet high in my own backyard because I happen to be 4 miles away...
