So when I go out for my maiden voyage, should I use manual mode and take it very very cautious? I've heard a lot about a simulator. Is that something that would help me before I fly this bird? Lastly, I have the green GPS board. Should I modify that before I fly it. With cardboard or the Shield that you can buy?

I would highly suggest the simulator app before flying your solo. I used it and it seemed to respond no differently than the solo did in real flight. I also used Fly mode for the first 5 flights then when I felt comfortable with the way it controlled I switched it over to manual mode. I set my manual mode on my B button.

I do not recommend manual to a brand new flyer, all of the Christmas crashes and one lost drone so far on FB were people who did not even read the manual and were flying in neighborhoods, one was in flying in their house
