GoPro Creating their own quads

Cinema5D just posted this article about how GoPro is in the development of their own drones, so how will this impact the 3DR Solo? There's no mention of the Solo in the article. Obviously GoPro will not increase the functionality of the Solo down the line if they want their own quad to have the most advanced GoPro usability.

My understanding is that GoPro worked with 3DR for the full control of GP functions, and the FW updates that GP did on gimbal arrival. This would lead me to believe that they will probably be using a 3DR controller in their bird, with full HW/FW support from 3DR.
