I did the mRobotics board and V2 shield upgrade on both my refurbished (they look new to me) units. I almost always get 20+ birds pronto and a HDOP of .5-.7. Well worth the investment and a little bit of work.

Yeah check that micro HDMI cable where it plugs into the bottom of the gimbal electronics. The other cable is what controls the gimbal I would think.

One of the two leads maybe disconnected down below. You may have to loosen those three screws and take it off and check it.

Are you using a gimbal? Are you lead still connected to the solo?

Shield V2 and mRobotics module. Results: averaging 21 satellites and HDOP 0.8 and lower. Definitely worth the investment.

I did the update by installing the mRobotics module and the version 2 shield. Believe it or not a couple of days ago I had 24 satellites and an HDOP of 0.5. What a great difference that update made in GPS reception. LOL!

Grabbed a copy of Sidepilot off the Apple App Store. It is kind of interesting.

I'm new to the Solo. I saw some videos of people putting a piece of cardboard between the connector side of the module in the original copper foil shield shield. What's the purpose of that? Also is the GPS shield version 2 a worthwhile upgrade.

Hi everyone! I installed the mRobotics GPS receiver module board today. Got everything put back together fired it up and quickly got 19 satellites LOL. Is that about par for the course? I don't know if that's gonna make a lot of difference but at least I have a lot of off the planet birds...

I roll back to 10.2.1 but it's too much hassle as you can't restore your back up if you were at 10. 3.1. I just grabbed a galaxy tablet and said to heck with it until it's fixed.

Good luck getting everything fixed. I'd stay out of those creeks. LOL

I roll my Apple iOS version back to 10.2.1. The app works there but it's such a hassle reinstalling everything that I went back to 10.3.1. My back up would not restore to 10.2.1. I grabbed a Samsung tablet and I'll do use that for Solo
