Training Eagles to "kill" drones

This falls into the category of "goat-f**k stupid" for me.
Training eagles and other birds of prey to down drones is ridiculous.
What happens when the bird goes after a real drone vs the crapweight Syma they're using for training?
"The eagle has natural protection from the blades..." yeah...what about say...a CF blade?

The panic over drones has gone from unwarranted to beyond believable. Hollywood couldn't make up this kind of dumb.

I'm with you. Putting any animal in harms way like that makes no sense. The right MR with CF blades could easily cut off a foot.

Agreed, stupid doesn't begin to describe this.

And I don't think it'd even take CF blades. I had a simple plastic one slice through my palm like it was nothing. Training a bird to intentionally tangle with a vehicle spinning 4+ props at between 10,000 to 30,000 rpm should be considered animal cruelty.
