Total NooooooB?

Hi all. I'm in QLD Australia. I have no clue how to fly as yet.

I was given a 3DR Solo to learn with from a friend. It didn't pick up many sats when I first took it out, and was a little volatile to basic functions. So I did some research and got a mRo Neo-M8N GPS.
Has anyone upgraded theirs and what the best settings would be for my location?

Any help appreciated.

I fitted the new GPS and shield and it picked up 11 satellites just plug and play. It was hard up getting 5 - 7 before the new board and it took ages to pick them up. This happened almost instantly, that was just in my yard, lots of interfering items around.
Going to take it out for a test run this weekend in an open area. Keen to see what it will pick up out in the open.

Is there anything I should or can do in the Ublock software to improve anything. Please, any tips or tricks would be great.

Search here for the word “constellations” and you will find a discussion about using u Center to adjust the satellite constellations for the mRO chip. Do not use more than two! The processor cannot handle three!

Had a look through the 'constellations' chats. Looks as though I don't have to change anything for Australia. Just plug and play.

Oh well, will soon find out on the weekend. Will take it for a test drive/fly. ??
