It claims that it was at 9000ft... can a recreational Drone even go that high?

Expecting Transport Canada to use this as a cash grab/ reason to licence and restrict further drone and quad flight in the months to come

Depending on type & weather, 9000ft Vertical flight would take about 23 min of battery power.
That will rule out 85% of consumer craft.

Yep- if they don't know what it was, it must have been a drone. Very irresponsible on the part of the pilots and the media to make an assumption like that.

Yes, but it's not practical for any drone to fly 9k ft & 33 miles from land LOL.

Did you see the flight path? They did a full 180 it looks like. That is a pretty drastic few turns.

I believe the pilot saw something. I believe he believes it may have been a drone. But that means it also may have been a plastic bag or a balloon. But a plastic bag isn't a sensational story. So the media just latches onto what will generate clicks. As such, I won't even give them the benefit of my click.

I've been saying to my friends (and my Dad who alerted me to the news of this), that it's probably MORE likely that it's a UFO than it is that it's a consumer drone

The numbers just don't seem to add up re: altitude, position, and size.

Totally aliens.

Almost 5000' seems a bit high. I imagine flight time and battery to get to that altitude would be a challenge.

Then, Those Pilots need to be tested for several conditions, physical, mental or self induced problems.

LOL, I haven't seen any of these reported "drone" sightings to be credible yet. They should be reporting a UFO, not automatically calling everything they don't recognize a drone.

They're sighted over Lake Ontario quite often actually. There's also a military Air Base within 10km of that location...

My brother & sister inlaw live on the southern shore of Lake Ontario. They have claimed to see the lights over the lake often.
