The 76 cent gimbal balance for 5.4mm lens with filter

I just balanced my gimbal for GoPro 4 black with 5.4mm rectilinear lens, lens adapter and 30mm glass filter. It took 2 quarters on the back and a quarter and a penny on the end and it's perfectly balanced. So $.76. Well... plus some velcro.

You overpaid Jon! With my 4.35 and ND8 it only cost me a quarter on the side and nickel on the back..

Can you both post some pictures. I have a GoPro 4 Black, a polarizer, and a ND filter. It was my understanding that balancing was not necessary.

Can youdetail where you get the lens mods and filter mods?

Looks the same as mine, except I used the weights that came with the gimbal first, then added coins when I ran out.

I got my lens mods and filters from PEAU. They also seel complete modded GoPro's

Not cheap, but stuff is good, and they are VERY knowledgeable and helpful.

I have done exactly the same with some flat lead pieces cut to the right size & weight and stuck in place with double sided tape. Perfect balance. I will not use a GoPro with the lens exposed, they are too easy to scratch and ruin.

So to balance with the gimbal powered off you just add weights until it floats level? I have a hero3+ black, it droops forward even with the larger weights installed - I do have the standard GP lens cover on it!
