Solo newbie here!
I've not long had my Solo but not new to multirotors and as the weather in the UK hasn't been favourable to maiden the bird, I was wondering if there was a way to spool up the motors (without props on obviously!) to check if they all work? Instruction would be great:)

Follow the startup procedure in the FAQ in the help section on this site and you should be fine.

You can also download Mission Planner (Mission Planner | Ground Station), install it on your PC.
Fire everything up as normal on the Solo (no props) and connect your PC to the Solo wifi.
Set Mission Planner connection to UDP, Baud Rate of 57600 and connect (ignore the update software prompt at connection time).
Once connected you can test each, or all 4 motors at a set percentage of power and duration. This is done under the Initial Setup>Optional Hardware section of MP.
I use this to check the motor sound and vibration (with a vibration app) as routine maintenance or after a mishap.
