I recently purchased a Solo Enterprise package before the release of Site Scan. I am very pleased with the aircraft and the capabilities but quite disappointed with the company. I did quite a bit of research before deciding to invest in 3DR's enterprise package. One thing I was quite impressed with was the overall customer service experience. I spoke with a sales manager multiple times both during and after business hours. He was very energetic and told me multiple reasons why the enterprise option listed on there site was much better than buying the Solo at the recently lowered price. I was told the following:

1) Several new cameras were going to be released and only be available for the enterprise edition including a new Sony Camera. ( I was not told that the Sony would only be available with a site scan agreement.)
2) Site Scan was going to be released for the Enterprise Edition Only. ( I was not told that there would be an additional cost.)
3) The enterprise edition came with a different replacement warranty than what's listed on the site. ( I was not told there would be an additional cost for this either. What was described and confirmed resembles what's on their website as the site scan success services subscriptions)

I asked a lot of questions and got specific answers around the items listed above that lead me to believe I was getting the above items with my purchase. I was told these weren't listed on the website as they were yet to be released.

I learned after my purchase and the release that in fact all items appear to be true but at a significant additional cost.

I provided this feedback specifically to the person who I spoke with. I was told that they were sorry if they miscommunicated the items.

Again, I am pleased with the aircraft and the capabilities and hope the company continues to release great updates. I would recommend everyone use caution when talking with representatives before making purchases. Based on my experiences it appears to me they will stretch the truth as far as necessary to make a sale.

If I had the option to do over I would most likely reconsider my purchase as I don't particulary appreciate a salesman who will work a deal at all cost.

That's very disturbing to hear. IMHO, "stretching the truth" and leaving out details by "miscommunication" are no different than lying.

If 3DR reps are stooping that low to make a sale, I want no part of 3DR.

I would suggest always following up verbal conversations with email confirmations

I had a similar rant last week. Thankfully I busted their balls for enough answers 1st. I decided not to buy. Marketers are selling something that they don't know how it does and doesn't work, while not understanding their competition. They really missed it this time around -in my opinion

that's it? no follow up? why would you spend thousands of dollars on a product without getting all the information you need about what it is you are purchasing? solo enterprise and site scan was just only recently announced and all of us are waiting on more information before actually purchasing. yeah...sounds about right.

If I am reading the sales guys correctly they pressing the "buy now before the price goes up"... They are offering an introductory price of $3588 ... price goes to $6000 in a few months.

3DR wants to sell Enterprise Solo complete with a GoPro and then have me wait for the release of the gimbal and camera. This sounds all too familiar and I would much rather wait and see...

I think the 3DR model is focused on individual users ... the architect, surveyor ... the small businessman who wants to perform tasks in house. Not so sure where the aspiring entrepreneur looking to develop a UAS service fits into the 3DR plan.

I hoping it develops into to something as I don't get it. Where is the Value? I create value and sell it. How the heck does sitescan turn into value for me. Unknowns are time suckers. I like surprises only once a year and that's on my birthday.
