return to general fly from manual flying

How fast does returning to regular fly from manual fly. I want to learn manual flying but I want to return to gps flying if I get freaked.

As long as you have satellites it is near instant. Just hit "Fly" (but don't hold it or you will land)

Now that I understand exactly how things work, I actually start off a LOT of flights in manual, as I just don't need the GPS to do that, and there is no need to wait even for 10 seconds. I have the "A" button set for Mannual Fly for that and emergencies where you lose GPS.

Once I get up, I then flip to GPS if I need it for Tower missions, hovering, smart shots, etc. Going UP makes GPS easier anyway, as many GPS satellitess are actually on the horizon (behind houses, trees, etc.)

There are exceptions where I will want to start in GPS (high wind etc.) but you can actually fly it just fine without it, as long as you know how it works...
