Not recording video

I have the gopro 4 silver, I get the live video, I see it on my phone, but it won't record any video when I do the shots Like I do the selfie or the orbit and it should record and you view it later, but nothing gets recorded. Also the little camera icon next to the to phone one on the left isn't light up. But when I do the shot the little red blinking light next to the camera icon blinks. Any one know what do I do to fix this?

i have tried on my note 9 and it just shuts down when i go to conect to the solo, but luckily i found out my spare iphone 8 plus connects, it has operation version 12.3.2. its the 3dr solo app, and i have version 2.4.3 of that. any other info i can give please let me know
