No offline maps for iPad WiFi yet

Your assumption was correct regarding saving map files on iPad without LTE.

Just got this from 3DR.

That feature is not available on ipad yet, the reason for this is that
Apple(iOS) devices can have an LTE connection and wifi at the same time, so the developers
of the iOS version of the SOLO app didn't put it in this first version of the SOLO app.

We are working on bringing this and other features to the app in the near future.

What size of iPad do you have ? Full size or a Mini?

The reason I asked is I bought a brand new sun shield a couple weeks ago hoping it would fit my 8.4" Samsung. It does not as its about 1/2 too small. I think its for the Mini and can confirm measurements with you.
