DJI unveils new Matrice models for industrial and professional use - The Digital Circuit

Great features in this for sure and some great applications they will fit into. These with a PH2 controller instead of DJI would be hard to beat. But with DJI controllers, professionals will still be complaining about being locked out. This was posted just 5 days ago:

Hello all, just wanted to post a follow up email response I received from DJI about unlocking in a NFZ for automated flight software for use in mapping etc like DD...

They will unlock for manual flying in a NFZ but will not allow waypoint automation for safety:

From DJI:
Intelligent Navigation Modes including Point of Interest, Follow Me and Waypoint cannot function in restricted zones.
Yes, the waypoints feature will not work in Restricted Zones even after unlocking. This is a limitation which has been set in the firmware for safety consideration.
We understand this will cause much inconvenience and this request has been reported to our R&D department for review.

This worked in September 2016 just fine. Not sure if all Drones are not allowing automation in NFZ now?

Anybody know anything more on this?

We have FAA waiver in a class D airspace and are dead in the water since it is not feasible to manually fly 80 acres for stockpile volumetric.

So even when the FAA syas it's OK, DJI still takes the position of 'we don't care' if you have permission.
