Had a close call with my Solo the other day, out of sight flyover of a transmission line tower that I would like to show here. The screencapture that I am using insists on putting itself in the middle of every shot.

If you know of a less visually intrusive one please let me know.

Thanks very much.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you are using Mission Planner on a WIn 10 machine to look at your flight - but... you kinda left that part out. Or maybe you're trying a capture from video - dunno...

At any rate, screen capture is built into all Windows OSs. If you want to capture what's on the entire monitor screen, hit the PrtScn (or similar) button. If you want to capture a screenshot of an active window, do an Alt+PrtScn.

In WIn 10 the captures should be in a folder called "Screenshots" under your "Pictures" folder. If not, simply paste the capture (with Ctrl+V) into a graphics program or Word doc or almost any old program that likes graphics.

This is what happened. Now do you see why I want an easy to use and simple app? I could not get rid of the app
overlay.
Okay... don't know a thing about that third-party app because I'd never use it as it isn't necessary for 99% of screen caps in Windows.

Did you try what I explained? If you need more Win10 screen capture info, simply Google it- there is a TON of info with illustrations.

Snipping tool is part of Windows 10 and an excellent capture utility. You can save and print directly from the app. I pin it to my task bar as I use it frequently. Just press your 'Windows' key on your keyboard and type 'SNI' and it should pop right up.

Thanks to all. That snipping tool I ended up downloading and it is sitting right at the top of my browser now and yes, it is dead simple to use and you can easily add handwritten notes to your screen captures, voice and even save it as a little mp4. Startiing a new thread called "close calls" that might be of possible interest.

Snipping tool has been standard in Win OS since Win7...you can select a window, draw around an area or capture an entire desktop...this download an app mindset is Appleish...
