Can the solo flight control system be modded to control 8 motors on a X8+?

You know that there is a PixHawk2 FB page? One of the former 3DR Engr. is attempting to produce the PH2 as stand alone hardware. But sure, why not...X8

The firmware is easy but accessing the additional pwm outputs in the pixhawk2 may proof difficult with the stock solo breakout board. The functionality is there in the pixhawk2 for sure.
