Installing Open Solo 4 on controller only.

I recently had a controller fail, no WIFI. I purchased a replacement controller that has original factory firmware, the drone is upgraded to Open Solo 4. Must I return the drone to factory firmware and upgrade both to Open Solo 4, or is there a procedure to upgrade the controller by itself. I have 3 other flying 3DR Solos that I have upgraded to Open Solo 4.

You should be able to install it using the SSH method in the instructions.
